"Cloak And Dagger" is the latest show that will join the current lineup for the Marvel TV universe. The series stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph in the lead roles. Read on for more details.

"Heroes" producer, Joe Pokaski adapted the series for Marvel and Freeform. The network acquired a straight-to-series order with 10 episodes. All episodes will air on the young-adult network next year.

The TV series will be the studio's first attempt at coming-of-age story, featuring an interracial teen couple. It is the live-adaptation of the 1980s comics from Ed Hannigan and Bill Mantlo. Both characters first appeared in the "Spider-Man" franchise.

Marvel's "Cloak And Dagger" Synopsis

"Cloak And Dagger" follows two young teens from different backgrounds and their unique interracial relationship as budding superheroes. They found solace in each other's arms and led to the discovery of their powers.

According to the synopsis from Marvel, Tandy was on the run from her parents when a thief tried stealing from her. Tyrone, on the other hand, felt their connection and began to help Tandy.

Tandy has the power to generate light daggers, while Tyrone can absorb the life forces of other people. Despite their differences in various aspects, Tandy and Tyrone started their own relationship, as they go on a journey in order to find their true selves. Tandy and Tyrone took the identities of the crime-fighting duo, Cloak and Dagger, as their alter-egos.

Former Disney star, Olivia Holt plays the role of Tandy Bowen, while newcomer actor, Audrey Joseph will portray the role of Tyrone Johnson. Writer Jeph Loeb and Joe Pokaski considered them as the perfect stars to play these characters.

"When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe,” Pokaski told Marvel.

According to CBR, Freeform released the short teaser ahead of its 2018 release date. It featured some snippets from their lives before their meeting. During in the time of need, fate brought Tandy and Tyrone together.

Aside from Holt and Joseph, the cast also includes Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden,
Carl Lundstedt, James Saito, and J.D. Evermore. In other updates, the cast and crew finished filming for the first episode in February. “Love & Basketball” director Gina Prince-Bythewood helmed the still-untitled pilot from the script written by Pokaski.
