Virgin Galactic is one of the latest innovations that Branson's company have been supporting. He and his team plan on introducing it as the world's first commercial airline, which offers flights to space. This is the latest cutting-edge efforts in exploring life outside Earth for humans.

Virgin Galactic Flight Dates, Ticket Price Update

Space.com reported that the final schedule for the Virgin Galactic flights is now in progress. Branson exclusively made some predictions regarding the upcoming launch date. SpaceShipTwo is the company's flagship spaceplane, which will be the first one to take its flight.

The plane can carry six passengers, alongside two designated pilots. The outlet added that they will have the chance to experience "a few minutes of microgravity and see the limb of Earth set against the blackness of space."

As of now, there are almost 500 people who signed up for the space mission. Some of the notable figures are Stephen Hawking, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCarpio, and more. Those who are interested are required to purchase a $250,000 ticket.

Branson refrained from giving an exact date, since the project has been pushed back several times. He gave a non-committal answer when asked for a possible 2018 launch date. Branson added, “But I think I’d be very disappointed if we’re not into space with a test flight by the end of the year and I’m not into space myself next year and the program isn’t well underway by the end of next year.”

A Space Hotel Might Happen, Branson Revealed

Richard Branson also revealed his plans for space tourism. He and his team wanted to take advantage of all possibilities. His ambitious plans also include the chance of building a posh hotel in outer space.

The 66-year-old billionaire also talked about their tough situation which they did not think will happen. “Space is tough,” Branson told Washington Post. “All of us that are in it have found it tougher than we thought.”
