As many people are struggling with mental illnesses, celebrities are not exempted from the battle. "Supernatural" actor, Jared Padalecki, recently spoke about his depression.

Jared Padalecki Talks About His Clinical Depression

Jared Padalecki openly talked about his struggles with depression. The actor passionately opened up about supporting people who are battling their emotional demons. He has been diagnosed with clinical depression when he was filming the hit TV series.

"I, for a long time, have been passionate about people dealing with mental illness and struggling with depression, or addiction, or having suicidal thoughts and, strangely enough, it is almost like the life I live as well," Padalecki said. "These characters that we play on Supernatural, Sam and Dean, are always dealing with something greater than themselves, and I have sort of learned from the two of them that they get through it with each other, and with help and with support." he added.

Today, the "Supernatural" actor is offering help for people with mental health issues or suffering from depression, self-injury, anxiety, suicide attempts, and bipolar disorder, per Psych Central. He initiated a nonprofit organization called "Always Keep Fighting."

Bipolar Disorder Comes With Depression And Anxiety

As per a recent report from The San Luis Obispo Tribune, bipolar disorder usually comes with other mental illnesses, such as anxiety disorders, depression, and substance abuse - which further complicate a person's diagnosis. Statistics show that there is only a total of 25 percent of patients who receive the correct diagnosis within three years of their struggles and symptoms.

According to research, no one is exempted when this occurs, as anybody can develop a bipolar disorder. The mental illness usually starts in the teenage years or in early adulthood.

The average age of onset is 25 years old. Jared Padalecki was diagnosed with depression when he was 25. Kids can also develop the illness during the early years.
