Billie Eilish, 22, recently disclosed her profound struggle with depression, shedding light on her emotional turmoil.

In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, the young pop star disclosed her inner struggle, saying, "I know I'm lucky/But I'm so unhappy."

Reflecting on her lifelong battle with depression, Eilish admitted, "I've never been a happy person, really... I'm a depressed person." Despite experiencing fleeting moments of joy and laughter, she grappled with persistent sadness.

During a particularly challenging period last summer, Eilish found herself engulfed by an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. Contrary to her usual belief that emotional waves would eventually pass, she reached a point where she no longer wished for improvement.

According to People, Eilish credited her family and close friends for providing crucial support during her darkest moments, emphasizing the importance of their unwavering presence in her life.

Recognizing the need for change, she embarked on a journey to rediscover the essence of joy and spontaneity that had eluded her for years.

"I hit a turning point," she explained. "I had this moment of like, 'Oh, my God, I haven't had fun in seven years.' Truly. I had this illusion that I had, because who experiences going to the Grammys at basically 17 and winning five? But in life, I realized I had really not experienced that much. I didn't go outside for five years. How was I supposed to have any experiences?"

Acknowledging her fear of the world and vulnerability, Eilish courageously confronted her anxieties, gradually reintegrating herself into society. She bravely faced her apprehensions, opting to challenge herself by embracing new experiences and stepping out of her comfort zone.

As she navigates her path towards healing, Eilish finds solace in her forthcoming album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," slated for release on May 17.

Through the creative process, she rediscovers fragments of her former self, reclaiming lost parts of her identity buried beneath the weight of fame and scrutiny.

"This whole process has felt like I'm coming back to the girl that I was," she remarked regarding the creation of the project.

"I've been grieving her. I've been looking for her in everything, and it's almost like she got drowned by the world and the media. I don't remember when she went away."

Despite her transparency regarding mental health struggles, Eilish expressed reluctance to assume the role of a spokesperson or advocate. While she acknowledges the importance of addressing mental health issues, she remains wary of being pigeonholed into a singular identity and the expectations that accompany it.
