Dr. Conrad Murray Case: New Email Reveals Concert Company May Be Liable

Dr. Conrad Murray may have been pressured by Michael Jackson's concert promotion company, AEG Live, to sign off on his demanding rehearsal schedule, despite increased medical concerns surround the King of Pop at the time.

Newly released documents in the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Michael Jackson's mother and children, reveals emails from AEG Live executives to Dr. Conrad Murray that may have threatened his job stability if he denied Jackson to attend the "This Is It" rehearsals, according to a CNN report.

Jackson died two weeks before his comeback concert, organized by AEG Live, were to set to have debuted in London in the summer of 2009.

Dr. Murray is currently serving a four year prison sentence for his conviction of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. AEG Live reportedly argues that it isn't liable for Jackson's death because Murray didn't work for the company. The lawsuit against AEG Live seeks money equaling what Jackson might've earned over his lifetime if he hadn't died, an amount that could total several billion dollars.

Jackson lawyers, calling it a "smoking gun," argue the e-mail is evidence that AEG Live used Murray's fear of losing his $150,000-a-month job as Jackson's personal physician to pressure him to have Jackson ready for rehearsals despite his fragile health.

"Now that the court has ruled that there is evidence that it was foreseeable that AEG's actions resulted in Michael Jackson's death, the Jackson family feels vindicated from the public smear campaign that AEG has waged against them," Jackson lawyer Kevin Boyle said Sunday.

"The truth about what happened to Michael, which AEG has tried to keep hidden from the public since the day Michael died, is finally emerging. We look forward to the trial where the rest of the story will come to light."
