Women Sues after Receiving Gift of Sperm that She Confuses for Moisturizer
A Chinese student will likely not be accepting any more gifts from suitors in the near future after a moisturizer mishap reminiscent of the 1998 movie There's Something about Mary.
The amorous Gou Wen, 22 years old, sent 19-year-old Zeng Lin a bottle filled with seminal fluid. Not knowing what it was, she accepted the gift. She did so because she thought that it was not a bottle filled with semen, but moisturizer, which she applied to her face.
According to British news outlet Metro, it was not until she had applied half the contents of the bottle onto her face that she discovered what the bottle contained. She asked an apartment mate why the liquid smelled strange, which is when her roommate explained to her what it was.
Immediately the student called the police.
The would-be suitor was ordered to pay $300 to the girl in damages. However, he has not lost hope. "I love her so much but she didn't know it and I didn't know how to tell her, so I did that thinking it was the ultimate way to show love," Wen, from the southwestern city of Chongqing in China, is quoted as having said to the press.
Though things did not go well for Wen this time, he is still determined to win the affection of his lady love. He said, "Now I know I was wrong, but I will find another way."
In fact, the properties of sperm have been linked to health benefits. Spermine, a crystalline polyamine found in sperm, is believed to smooth out wrinkles, soften skin and fight acne. At least one company has created a synthetic version of the chemical to make a facial cream, which is supposed to slow down the aging process by 20 percent.
In addition, one infamous study found that the chemicals in semen should guard against depression. The study found that women who had unprotected sex were less likely to suffer from symptoms of depression that women who had protected sex or who were abstinent. The same study found that women exposed to semen performed better on cognitive and concentration tasks.
