Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has been recognized for its potential to improve wound healing and reduce scar visibility. To use aloe vera, remove the dark green skin from an aloe vera leaf, scoop out the clear gel, and apply it directly to the scar in circular motions. After thirty minutes, rinse off the gel with cool water. This should be done twice daily.
Vitamin E
Although the scientific evidence on the effectiveness of vitamin E for scars is inconclusive, it remains a popular remedy. To use vitamin E, cut open a capsule and apply the oil directly to the scar. Massage the oil for about ten minutes and leave it on for twenty minutes before washing it off with warm water, a process that should be repeated at least three times a day.
Honey
Honey is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, though its efficacy in scar reduction is not strongly supported by research. To use honey, apply a layer over the scar before bed, cover it with a bandage, and leave it overnight. Wash off the honey with warm water in the morning. Repeat nightly.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil may aid in wound healing due to its ability to promote collagen synthesis and reduce inflammation. To use, warm a few tablespoons of coconut oil until it liquefies, then massage it into the scar for ten minutes. Let the oil absorb for at least an hour. This should be done two to four times daily.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar, containing succinic acid, may help in preventing acne scars. Mix four tablespoons of distilled water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and dab it onto the scar. Allow it to dry and wash it off in the morning. This should be done every night.
