Brothers' Wives Give Birth to Babies in Same Hospital Less than 90 Minutes Apart
A set of cousins will need to get used to having joint birthday parties.
According to CBS New York, brothers Dave and Nick Pereira, 36 and 35, have always been close. But now, they have an additional bond: their children were born on the same day, within 90 minutes of one another at the same hospital.
Yesterday morning Nick sent his brother a text message, saying that he was at the hospital because his wife Beth was ready to give birth, Mineola Patch reports. Nick was astonished when his brother Dave responded, saying that he and his wife Claudia were also at the hospital because she, too, was ready to have their baby.
"My response was 'Are you serious?' I thought he was kidding. I mean I thought he knew I was here already, but it was a nice surprise," Dave said to 1010 WINS.
Nick and Beth Pereira had baby boy Nathaniel at 9:15 in the morning. David and Claudia Pereira had baby girl Gwyneth less than 90 minutes later, at 10:37 that day.
Already, the brothers are planning activities for the cousins, who might as well as be twins. Because they both like hockey, they want their children to play on the same team.
The babies are the second for Nick and Beth Pereira, and first for David and Claudia.
