Police arrested a 22-year-old woman last week for wearing a thong bikini in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina.

Tiara Monique Garness of High Point, North Carolina was arrested Friday morning and charged with indecent exposure because her swimsuit didn't cover her buttocks, according to the Daily News.

Cops charged Garness with the misdemeanor offense after she repeatedly ignored warnings from officers.

According to the city of Myrtle Beach local government website thong bikini bathing suits are strictly prohibited.

"Thong bikini bathing suits and public display of certain body parts are illegal and can result in arrest," the website stated.

Myrtle Beach's current laws on indecency were approved two decades ago in 1993, and section 14-38 states: "It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally appear in any public place in such as state of dress or undress as to expose to the view of others... the buttocks".

Section 14-38 goes on to state that a police officer should issue a warning to the offender and that person must either put something on to cover up or leave the public place, otherwise they will be charged with violation of the code.

Garness was arrested 5 a.m. Friday and held on a $469 cash bond. She wasn't the only one to be arrested for indecent exposure over the weekend.

According to the KTRE, three other women Latosha Faye Collins, 27, of Dalton, South Carolina, Tenisha Blair, 34, of Shelby, South Carolina and Latoya Michen, 31, of Philadelphia, were all arrested and charged misdemeanor indecent exposure for showing their buttocks.
