New Study Reveals Just How Often Men Think About Sex
Men think about sex twice as often as women, a new study reveals
New research reveals that men think about sex about 34.2 times a day or about every 28 minutes, when allowing for eight hours of sleep. In contrast, women think about it every 51 minutes or about 18.6 times a day.
The study involved students between 18 and 25. Researchers at Ohio State University asked participants to write down every time they thought about sex, food and sleep each day for seven days.
They findings revealed that the average man thought about food and sleep 25.1 times a day. The average woman thought about food 15.3 times a day and sleep 13.4 times a day.
Researchers said the study shoed that men paid more attention to their physical needs than women. However, researchers noted that women might have underreported their sexual thoughts because of social pressure.
According to the Daily Mail, the latest findings are supported by other surveys. A poll by Lovehoney.co.uk revealed that 59 percent of men think about sex several times a day compared to 45 percent of women.
"The results show the importance of sex to all of us," said Lovehoney co-founder Neal Slateford, according to the Daily Mail. "It's great that men think about sex twice an hour and women once every 51 minutes. Obviously they are averages, so the figures are far higher for many people."
"Certainly that is our experience at Lovehoney - and it is proved by the results of our own survey," said Slateford. "We are all developing a more relaxed and far better attitude towards sex in Britain."
