Average Single Man Changes Bed Sheets Every Three Months
Ladies, the next time a man offers you his bed- make absolutely sure he changes the sheets. Otherwise, you'll probably be sleeping on everything he's accumulated in bed over the past three months.
A new survey reveals that the average single man only changes his sheets four times a year or once every three months.
The poll, conducted by UK mattress company Ergoflex, reveals that 49 percent of men thought that their unhygienic habits were acceptable and that 19 percent just don't care, according to the Daily News.
Women, however, change their sheets every two-and-a-half weeks, meaning that they sleep on clean beds at least five times more often than men.
Researchers found that people in relationships tend to change their linens more often. However, the poll revealed that 81 percent of couples reported that the woman is in charge of cleaning the sheets.
Men and women between the ages of 35 and 50 were most likely to change their sheets on a weekly basis.
Surprisingly, only 17 percent of single men admitted that their dirty sheets had "put off" potential partners. However, researchers say rejection should be the least of their worries.
"Romantic ambitions aside, we were more alarmed by the potential health risks that unhygienic bed-sheets could cause, considering in particular two unwelcome night-time companions - dust mites and bed bugs," Ergoflex's Steven Willis wrote in a blog post.
