A company in Brazil plans to start selling garlic capsules to fight flatulence, according to various reports.

"This garlic oil is rich in antioxidants and deodorants and combats intestinal dysbiosis, a colon malfunction that increases flatulence," Polias chemist Joseth Gimenes told AFP.

While garlic is known for giving people bad breath, Gimenes said that the capsule is mainly released in the intestine and does not come back into the mouth.

"Hence there is no risk of bad breath," Gimenes added.

Gimenes said her company was targeting 15 percent of Brazil's 200 million inhabitants that suffer from intestinal dysbiosis.
