A "dead" baby boy woke up just before he was about to be cremated.

According to AFP the baby who had been declared dead was saved from his untimely death when he started crying at the funeral parlor in China.

According to Xinhua state news agency, the parents of the boy, who was critically ill and less than one month old, has agreed to stop his medical treatment at Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital in eastern China. The boy had been born with a congenital respiratory system malformation

Afterwards, a death certificate was issued and the baby was sent to a funeral home in Hefei.

Staff at the funeral home discovered the crying baby Wednesday and immediately sent him back to the hospital, according to Beijing News.

"Because the baby still had life signs, we continued to give him transfusion to maintain his life for humanitarian reasons," a hospital employee told Xinhua.

The hospital said that they have suspended a doctor, fired a nursing working and launched an investigation into the incident, according to Xinhua.
