A kid who told his mother he had no one to invite to his birthday, has now over 880,000 Facebook friends who will wish him a happy birthday.

Eleven-year-old Colin is suffering from a disorder similar to Asperger's syndrome, which affects his social skills making it difficult for him to make friends. Colin has been refusing his mom's proposal to throw a party for his 11th birthday saying "who am I going to invite? I don't have any friends." So her mom created a viral Facebook page "Colin is Eleven" on February 2 which has garnered around 900,000 till now.

On the page people are invited to send wishes to Colin whose birth day is on March 9.

The campaign has already received an overwhelming response and her son is receiving messages from well-wishers across the globe including kindergarten classes in Mexico. Jennifer has also set up a PO box specifically for receiving cards and messages for Colin's birthday.

"If you can see someone with challenges, like someone with crutches or wheelchair, you know you need to open the door for them. But if someone is acting differently, you may not know they have challenges that you may not understand," Jennifer mentioned in an interview with WoodTV

She said she wanted to change her son's mindset that he was alone so she turned to utilizing the social media's power.

Kalamazoo, MI, resident Colin has no idea of the ongoing campaign and will probably learn about it on his birthday on March 9.
