The most common sleep-related issue that people face today includes sleep disorder, distributed sleep pattern and insomnia. You can blame it on a hurried lifestyle or on exhausting work patterns.

Exercise
To get a good sleep, you need to tire your body out. Experts suggest exercising four hours before sleep time. However, don't wear yourself out and instead make the exercise patter light. Opt for running, cycling or take a brisk walk.
Avoid these things
Caffeine, alcohol and nicotine should be avoided during bedtime. Caffeine acts as a stimulant which makes us alert by temporarily blocking certain sleep-inducing chemicals in the brain. Further it also increases adrenaline production.
Music
Good music is associated with deep slumber, and perhaps this is the reason why mothers sing lullabies to put their children to sleep. According to experts, good music blocks out other senses, hence putting your mind in a state of rest.

You might be aware of the pink elephant dilemma. When you are asked not to think of a pink elephant, you can't but think of a pink elephant. Similar is the case with insomnia and sleep disorders as well. Don't think that you are going to be sleep-deprived for the rest of the night.
