Regina Y. LeVerrier, MD, Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Mental Health

 Regina LeVerrier, Attending Psychiatrist at Colorado West Regional Mental Health, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health.

Specializing in addition and public psychiatry, Dr. LeVerrier has served the mental health field for 23 years. Currently, she works as an attending psychiatrist at Colorado West Regional Mental Health, a position she has held for two years. She is responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, monitoring medicine, and treating acute suicidal and psychotic patients. Recently, she has personal essays and memoirs accepted for publication in two literary magazines: "Controlled Burn" and "Seeing the Everyday." Her essay "Drowning the Dynamic Duo" was recently published in "Gemini Magazine."

Dr. LeVerrier discovered her fascination with the mental health field when she was 12 years old, after reading a book about recovering heroin addicts. Accredited by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., she earned an MD from the University of Miami. She then went on to complete a residency in general adult psychiatry at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and a fellowship in public psychiatry at Columbia University. Dr. LeVerrier is the recipient of various awards, including honorable mention at the Writer-Editors Network International Writing Competition, and a trustee scholarship from the University of Miami. She is affiliated with the Phi Beta Kappa Society of the University of Florida. In the future, she hopes to expand her writing career and publish her book length memoir "Reassembly Required."
