Microsoft’s Surface Book is Twice as Fast as MacBook Pro, is it really true?
When Microsoft's surface book was launched, Panos Panay, devices head of the company made some serious tall claims. One of the claims was the the Surface book was at least twice as fast as the MacBook Pro. Even though the claim has been nearly accurate, some recent tests may prove it otherwise. PC world compared the two laptops side by side and put them through the benchmarking tests to see how one fared against the other across various specs. MacBook Pro 13 has an intel core i5-5752U processor, 8GB RAM, Iris 6100 graphics and the latest version of OS X, El Capitan. Microsoft Surface Book on the other hand has Intel Core i5-6300U, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 ad GeForce graphics. However, when the two were tested against CineBench R15 benchmark test, MacBook Pro was faster and scored 316 points against Microsoft's 302 points, says Gadgets NDTV. Several other tests done by PC World have found results varying from Microsoft's claims. However, it is not known what conditions were used by Microsoft to reach these conclusions.
In an attempt to shift the Apple users to Microsoft, Surface Book has now been made available with a new feature on their website called "Making the Switch". This trick has been specifically designed to target the Apple MacBook users. They have been marketing their laptop as an ultimate machine, while the claim may be a little farfetched but the hands-on results have been pretty impressive so far. This laptop-tablet hybrid is steeply priced at $1,499, according to Venture Beat.
Even though the price tag is very high, the laptop has been selling really well. However, it is yet to be seen how Microsoft's first ever laptop has appealed to the Apple fans so far, says Express.
