Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date and Rumors: Rollout Delayed For LG G4 And Other Phones
The rollout of Android 6 Marshmallow for LG G4 has been delayed due to technical issues which could take a while to fix. The company has announced the delay but did not reveal when updates will be rolled out.
According to Geek Snack, the update should have been released in Poland last week but was delayed indefinitely. Without explaining the delay, LG said the update has been temporarily suspended. It is likely that bugs during final testing forced the company to suspend the rollout. The Poland rollout was to be followed by release of updates in other European, Asian and American markets.
While Geek Snack remained optimistic that minor fixes could see LG rollout Marshmallow sooner than later, Gospel Herald reported that lack of a timeline could mean an update could take a while.
"It was hoped that LG would receive their Android Marshmallow update to at least the G4 by the end of this year, but this delay could put it off until early 2016. By that time, people will be starting to talk about the LG G5, or whatever the company decides to call their flagship phone for next year," it reported.
The LG G4 delay could also delay the release of Android for other LG phones. LG G Flex 2 is more likely to next phone after G4 to get the update.
