Video: Next V3.0 Is A Future Modular Vehicle That Does Not Look Like A Car
Next----a car. As well as the name of the company that is making it.
Next has announced a concept that may become the future of mass transportation. This company is called Next version 3.0, a 'modular electric car design' that looks not like a car, but just like a box mounted on wheels.
This has been invented by Tommasso Gecchelin. It has no prototype yet, but is powered by batteries, according to Popular Science.
This car will be running in another five years. It will exhibit a number of "popular technologies" such as smartphones, somewhat like the Uber model, with clients able to call for the Next module with a dedicated app.
Moreover, every module can link with other vehicles. Hence, one passenger, in order to get to his destination quickly, can switch modules on the way. This module can hook to another even as it is mobile.
Each one is a transparent box, showing the "physical footprint of a Smart car but a 2.5-ton build of a mid-sized sedan," according to Fast Co. Design.
Hence, it looks like a small room in which passengers can stand because of the large headroom. One module can carry up to six passengers, Gizmag reported. The future car will address the need for "mobile office and on-demand transport".
A number of services will be accessed in future. For instance, if a passenger wants to eat or visit the restroom, he just has to switch modules!
