iPhone 7 Rumors And Specifications: Apple Is A Mini In The Making For 2016 Release?

iPhone 7 rumor mills are working fast, churning out speculation that Apple may release a 4-inch phone as part of its next generation line-up.

Dubbed the iPhone Mini or iPhone 7 Mini, the 4-inch iPhone was speculated for release with the iPhone 6S. Then rumored to be called iPhone 6C, it was poised to replace the iPhone 5C with specifications of iPhone 6. Those rumors remained just that, rumors, and September this year did not see Apple release of a 4-inch phone. However, given that 4-inch Apple phones are still in vogue and were released not so long ago, it seems pertinent that the iPhone maker may release such a phone if just to boost sales of its large-phone line-up.

Forbes reports that Apple could release a smaller model just to promote its larger variants, indicating that the smaller device will be relatively poor in performance. Ideally Apple would want to have a range of phones that takes users from the good to better and to the best.

Rounding up speculation on a smaller 4-inch phone, The Week reports predictions by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claimed Apple could release a smaller phone in 2016 to address an existing demand.

According to Kuo, the handset would be packed in metal casing as a low-cost alternative to the iPhone 7 but will not feature 3D Touch, Apple's latest trademark feature that was introduced in iPhone 6S.
