Facebook can now help you upload your photos easily by scanning them for you beforehand. Earlier, the social networking app scanned the photos after they have been uploaded. However, thanks to the new "optional" feature, Photo Magic, that allows the app to directly scan photos on your camera roll. If there is a match of photo in your camera roll with the friends in the user's list, Facebook will make suggestions to share the photographs with. This feature can be turned on or off as per the user's preference. According to Facebook, with this latest feature, the sharing of the photos will become easier. You can now save a lot of steps by directly sharing the photo with a single tap. David Marcus, head of Messenger App said in a Facebook post, "It's still way too difficult to share photos with friends, and receive all the ones you're in". So far, the test phase has been rolled out in Australia. Marcus says that if the test phase in Australia goes well, it will be brought to US soon after, reports CNN.

Peter Martinazzi, Director of Product Management told Tech Crunch, "What we've seen is that private sending of photos in Messenger is really popular. About 9.5 billion photos were sent inside Messenger in the last month. It's growing even faster than Messenger over all, which is growing really fast." This statistic is important for Facebook messenger because it is in direct completion with its true rival, SnapChat. So, Facebook uses the same technology that powers the facial recognition on its app and add it to the Photo Magic feature. If the users do not wish to be recognized then they have the option of turning the feature off from the app's privacy settings, says Tech Crunch.
