This is How Caregivers Mitigate Stress

According to a recent report published in 2015 about the Caregiving in the US, a study conducted by National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, any typical non-professional caregiver in America spends over 24 hours each week caring for a family along with a full time job outside their homes. It is not easy to do this task and more so when you do it for free. November being the month for acknowledging the caregivers, this is the perfect time to recognize the role that they play in helping the disabled or aging population of the country. It is understandable that caregivers often feel stressed because of the issues that they face on a daily basis. In fact, 38% caregivers consider themselves as highly strained. Even if you take up the role of caregiving by your volition, the job does some time drain of your emotional and physical energy.

According to Huffington Post, the caregivers can use one of these ways to provide care without burning out. The most important thing for the caregivers is to keep their health as an utmost priority. The most resilient caregivers know that unless they don't care for themselves, they wont be able to help the others. For a caregiver, it is important to understand that they cannot do everything and it is ok. You need to recognize your strengths and limitations and take help where it is needed. The last most important thing is that always find joy in what you do. Which means that you must have a life outside your caregiving and professional schedule. Take some time off every once in a while. Unless you give yourself the energy boost from time to time, you would not be able to keep up the stressful routine and soon give up on one thing or another.
