No Data Caps for the Comcast TV Streaming Service in Chicago

Comcast TV streaming service is now available in Chicago to the Xfinity-internet only subscribers giving them access to the live TV channels of the major broadcasting networks. This rollout will reach other Comcast service areas too by next year. The Stream TV will not count into the 300 GB data limit that has been implemented in some areas. As told to Ars Technica by Comcast spokesperson in response to their inquiry about the impact of service on the data plans, "No, Stream is an IP cable service delivered over our managed network to the home". The details have been further explained on the FAQ page of the company's website answering questions about the streaming service and the monthly data allowance.

On their support page, Comcast says, "Stream TV is a cable streaming service delivered over Comcast's cable system, not over the Internet. Therefore, Stream TV data usage will not be counted towards your XFINITY Internet monthly data usage." It also said that the Stream TV will not use the allotted bandwidth that has been allotted to the users. There are over thousands of on-demand shows and movies that can be easily access through the reliable Stream TV service offered by Comcast. It can also be used across multiple devices. All it needs is a Wi-Fi connection to watch the TV anywhere, be it your phones or your laptops too. Subscribers will enjoy channels like HBO, CBS, ABC, CW, FOX, PBS, Univision as well as other premium channels such as HBO comedy and HBO family in HD quality, as reported by Tech Times.

Stream TV will be available at $15 per month and the first month service free. The subscribers will be able to access the service as soon as they signup. "We want to make ordering and accessing Stream TV as simple as possible for our customers and let them start watching favorite content as quickly as possible," Matt Strauss, executive VP and general manager of video services for Comcast Cable, as told to PR Newswire.
