Nonprofits Can Now Raise Funds Directly from Facebook’s Fundraiser Page
The user-ship of Facebook has reached a staggering 150 million people all over the world that are connected through a cause on Facebook. The social media giant is being used by the community of volunteers, activists and donors to connect with likeminded people and make this world a better place to live. People raise money for the search missions or disaster relief and bring attention to global issues. It has been seen through this community effort that when the people take action, lives are actually changed and for the good. It is this connection that Facebook will strengthen through its Fundraiser Page. The company will be testing a new tool, called Fundraisers, with improved button for Donate and to allow people to contribute for a cause without leaving the Facebook page. Through this feature, Facebook hopes to engage more members of the community, find new supporters and also encourage funding for a good cause, reports Facebook Newsroom.
The nonprofit organizations can use the Fundraisers page as a dedicated page for a specific campaign. These nonprofits can tell their story, get support from the online community and also collect the donations for the cause. The fundraiser page will also give them the opportunity to track the progress of the campaign that they launched through this page. People will be able to donate in a few clicks and also share the donations with friends. People will be able to see the donate button clearly on their newsfeed so that they can make a hassle free contribution. The Donate button will be available on the posts as well as the fundraiser page to make it possible for donors to connect to the right cause, says Fortune. Even though Facebook already plays a big role in fundraising for global causes and the record breaking success of ALS Association fund raising campaign, the company believes that it can be even bigger.
