Microsoft Cortana Introduced over iOS
In a recent blog at WareNotice, Microsoft made an official announcement that Cortana's beta version app will be available for iOS, exclusively for the people who signed up for it earlier this month. The initial tests are being conducted by using TestFlight which is restricted to only 2,000 people per app. Just like Windows, Cortana for iOS will perform tasks such as quick internet search, create reminders, track appointments, compose email and other voice based command features, reported Tech News Today.
Cortana tries to incorporate natural language input, just the way Siri does. The version available on TestFlight is just to establish if the app works seamlessly as a human assistant or not. The app will most likely work as a VA or a virtual assistant and can also work as a cross-platform for those people who use Windows in office and iOS at home. According to a report by Tech Crunch, beta testers were made to create a reminder on their Windows 10 PC to check its functionality on an iOS device. The users were also asked to determine if their VA experience was realistic or not.
Microsoft's attempt to take over Siri has been doing well so far and is all set to create an upheaval in the market, if the features as promised are introduced. Cortana will surely become Microsoft's brand ambassador, at least in the digital field. "So, while there are some features you'll use on Windows that we don't (yet) support on iOS phones (like saying "Hey Cortana" to wake her up), we've focused on making Cortana on iOS the flawless companion to your Windows experience," was the official statement on the company website, reports Herald Current.
