Tag Heuer’s Android Smart Watch Sells like Hot Cakes
Tag Heuer launched a smart watch priced at a whopping $1,500 as a gamble, but the watch has been doing fairly well for its price. According to Jean-Claude Biver, LVMH Chief, his company is already in the process of increasing the production of the smart watch due to its searing demand. They have even decided to freeze their online sales until the months of May and June so that the retail stores can benefit from its sales too. Even though it is selling quite well, the established watch maker is still a far cry to compete established players like Apple in the smart watch department. Apple is already selling close to 43,000 units per day when the production increase for Tag Heuer is a measly 1,200 per week to a 2,000 per week. Apple has already sold more than 3.9 million smart watches in its third quarter. Even Tag is doing exceptionally well in the luxury watch market, many smart watch brands will be able to easily outsell Tag Heuer, as reported by Bloomberg.
However, the success of the watch is enough to make the watchmaker plan its upcoming collection that will include several varieties and materials. Another version is set to be released by 2017 that will include the gold and diamond studded design. It is hard to put a price tag on Heuer's diamond studded watch when Apple's Rose Gold version costs over £13,500, according to Pocket Lint.
The good news is that TAG will be expanding its productions to meet the strong interest of the consumers. The customers that do not mind shedding thousands of dollars for a high luxury, diamond encrusted smart watch that will most likely be obsolete in a few years then there will be plenty of opportunities available for you, says Engadget.
