Facebook Building Attacked by Miscreants in Germany

The office of the largest social network of the world, Facebook, was vandalized in Hamburg, Germany by the vandals. The incident including throwing paint, spraying graffiti "Facebook dislike" and smashing the building glass, Northern Germany police said. The attack on the social networking group was caused by 15-20 people, all wearing black clothes and hoods. Following the attack, an investigation has begun. Facebook spokesman confirmed that nobody was hurt in the incident. He added that the motive of the vandalism is still unknown and declined to comment further, reported Fortune.

The Facebook head of Europe is already being scrutinized in Germany over the company's failure to eliminate the racist hate speech. The investigation on the matter was announced last month as the politicians and the celebrities in Germany voiced their concerns about the increasing anti-foreigner comments on Facebook in German as well as other social media channels as the country comes to terms with the refugee situation, says Yahoo News.

The Guardian reported last month that their an on-going investigation of Facebook's European chief, Martin Ott, for not removing the racist posts. The company at that time said, "the allegations lack merit and there has been no violation of German law by Facebook or its employees." Facebook works in collaboration with a group called FSM that offers voluntary service to monitor the multimedia service providers and has said that they would they encourage the users to refrain from using racism.

According to the critics of social media network, they blame the lenient policies and rules against the hate speech which has encouraged the intolerant remarks against the inflow of migrants. It is common to see verbal and racial attacks against the migrant hostels and asylum-seekers, reported Fortune.
