Parents’ Heart-wrenching Bucket List for Dying Daughter Goes Viral

Mike and Laura Canahuatip received a heart-breaking diagnosis only weeks ago that their beloved five-month-old daughter Avery was born with fatal illness named Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA),  the No.1 killer of U.S. infants under two, and only 18 months was left in her life.

With anguish since there is no cure, Avery's parents created a cheery blog with online bucket list,

Parents, who would like their daughter to experience milestones as many as possible before her death, wrote a bucket list in her daughter's voice with imagination and hope.

"We want her to try cupcakes, ice cream, go to a birthday party, fly a kite, blow bubbles," said Laura Canahuati. "We could go around and cry all day long or we can enjoy the time we have with her. We have all the time in the world to cry when this is over."

The blog has struck a chord to the public, and caused an internet sensation with more than one million viewers recently.

"Keep in mind in everything I do, the two most important things are that I'm spending time with my mommy & daddy, while at the same time spreading awareness for SMA," Avery "wrote" on her blog.
