The deal cannot get sweeter. Best Buy is offering the iPhone 6S for $ 1. You heard that right!

The deal comes with a rider though - a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless or Sprint, CNN Money reports. For those willing to trade an iPhone 5 or a newer iPhone, Best Buy is also throwing in a $ 200 gift card. The $ 1 deal is being offered only on 16 GB iPhone 6S devices. The larger storage devices are not part of it. The deal helps save $ 199, Best Buy announced.

According to CNET, Best Buy is also offering the deal to buyers should they wish to buy an iPhone 6, though it is anybody's guess why go for an iPhone 6 when the 6S is around. This could however indicate that Best Buy expects a large number of buyers who have held out with older Apple phones to jump over. Given that offers exist often until the stock lasts, the iPhone 6 too could be a hot seller during the shopping season.

Best Buy is reportedly offering iPhone 6S in four colors while iPhone 6 is only available in Space Gray. Purchases can be made online and at retail stores.
