Newly Developed Super Condom Fights Off HIV/AIDS
A bold claim from Texas A&M University Health Science Center-based scientists suggests a super condom that might revolutionize sex will soon be made available to the public.
The said condom contains anti-HIV protective and sexual pleasure enhancing properties to make sex protected and pleasurable at the same time.
While most condoms are latex-based, the revolutionary condom is made of hydrogel-based polymer and some interesting add-ons that truly make it "super".
According to Business Standard, the super condom contained plant-based anti-oxidants to heighten pleasure during sexual intercourse and anti-HIV properties that could kill off the virus even if the condom breaks.
"Supercondom could help fight against HIV infection and may as well prevent unwanted pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases and If we succeed, it will revolutionize the HIV prevention initiative," exclaimed Mahua Choudhery, the lead proponent of the study, as quoted saying by Hindustan Times.
As mentioned in the foregoing, the pleasure-enhancing feature of the product adds value to the condom.
"The anti-oxidant [in the condom] will enhance neurotransmitters which will work with nerve endings, giving greater sexual pleasure," said Choudhery dismissing the argument that using condoms lessens coital pleasure as stated in an article by Independent.
Choudhery was one of the 54 people who received a grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's "Grand Challenge in Global Health" program which asked awardees to create an inexpensive natural condom that will help stem the tide of HIV epidemic worldwide.
