Buttocks Enhancement And Breast Reduction Expected To Trend Next Year
Next year, cosmetic surgery will lead to a reduction in breasts and enhancement in lips and the buttocks. Industry experts confirm that clients are showing more interest in choosing to undertake "breast reduction or small breast implants, buttocks contouring and lip enhancement procedures" according to HNGN.
"The days of having these ridiculously large Christina Hendricks, voluptuous, out-of-shape breasts are gone," said Dr. Douglas Steinbrech of the Gotham Plastic Surgery in Manhattan, via New York Daily News. "People don't want to be top heavy. For 2016, buttocks are the new breasts."
The passing year showed a rise in interest for buttocks contouring, which is going to continue. "Not a day goes by that I don't answer one or two requests from women interested in buttocks contouring," said Dr. Robert F. Centeno to Real Self.
Fellow plastic surgeon Dr. Sheila S. Nazarian feels that while this is not going to be the trend, it will continue to be a top demand. "But similar to breast augmentation, I think the trend will evolve to include a more natural look," she said.
Other trends expected to become popular next year are lip augmentation procedures and chin and neck work too.
Meanwhile, men hope to get their chests and eyelids done in 2016. "Like women, men are now feeling pressure to look younger longer, both for economic and social reasons," New York dermatologist Dr. Heidi A. Waldorf said.
Cosmetic procedures not involving surgery or anesthesia are also growing. "Twenty years ago, a cosmetic surgeon was just that: a surgeon. Nonsurgical procedures basically consisted of dermabrasion, and filler treatment was limited to bovine collagen (both of which were performed mostly by dermatologists.) It wasn't that surgeons did not want to perform nonsurgical treatments; there just weren't many that existed," said Dr. Joe Niamtu via Cosmetic Surgery Times.
