Ferrari North America Inc., a Ferrari NV division, is set to recall California T vehicles due to fuel leak risk in the engine compartment of the car, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation notice released on Friday. The recall, that started earlier this month on December 14, will impact up to 185 vehicles that were manufactured between September 8 and November 11, 2015. The manufacturing defect exposed the car to a higher risk of a leak with increased chances of fire. The defect was reported in a part that was provided by a supplier, as per a filing made to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration, a DOT division, reported India Today.

This move comes after Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV owned Ferrari recalled as many as 800 cars in the United States to fix the issue with Takata airbags this summer. A stop sale notice has been issued to the dealers of 2016 model California T. The car's list price is $167,000 as mentioned in The Car Guide, on November 23, according to Manufacturing.net. The National Highway Safety Administration said that almost 185 vehicles were reported to have low pressure fuel line that may fail to connect with the fuel pump's feed pipe properly. This bad connection can amplifies the fuel leak risk in the engine compartment that can increase the chances of fire. According to Automotive News the fuel leak risk is caused due to manufacturing defect.
