Pokemon will soon complete its 20 years. Nintendo will bring back the wave of nostalgia by using the power of primary colors. It has announced the release of 4 different 2DSes, two of which will be exclusive, that will be launched with the Pokemon remakes (Gameboy classics of Green, Red, Pikachu Yellow and Blue) for the 3DS and of course the 2DS. The see-thru models of red and blue have already launched in Europe along with the last title of Pokemon. However, this is the first time that Pokemon is appearing in Japan at all. Cheaper versions of Nintendo handheld and a Pokemon game will come together in a bundle that is set to be released in late February, says Engadget.

It has been more than two years since Nintendo launched its 2DS handheld system in US, dropping the 3D functionality and the 3DS's Clamshell hinge for a system available at a pocket-friendly price. But this odd portable is coming to Japan for the first time and that too in its special Pokemon themed editions. The four models will be available in red, blue, yellow and green colors that matches with the updated versions of Nintendo's Gameboy Pokemon titles. These special edition packages are introduced due to inaugural of Pokemon games on 3DS virtual console as well as the 20th anniversary celebration of the popular series, according to Slashgear

The Pokemon themed 2DS bundles will come to Japan on 27th February and will be priced at 9,980 Yen ($83 approximately), this is the same time when older games are introduced on the Virtual Console. These classic Pokemon titles can be played on any 3DS hardware. However, it is not known if the 2DS special bundles will be sold outside Japan or not, said Ubergizmo.
