iPhone 7 Rumors: Plus Variant With 256 GB Coming?

If recent rumors are anything to go by, Apple's Plus offering this year is a beast in the making.

Citing reports from Chinese tech portals, Mac Rumors wrote that the iPhone 7 Plus will feature 256 GB storage and 3,100 mAh battery, substantially bigger than iPhone 6S Plus. The report raised questions if Apple will simply introduce a phone with super-sized storage or revamp its entire line up of devices. Currently, iPhones are offered in 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB variants.

A large storage for the iPhone 7 Plus could be justified given the bumped up resolutions of the cameras and the ever increasing demand for storage space, NDTV reports. It however remains to be seen if rumors about battery prove true.

Apple's efforts to make its phones thinner have come at the cost of reduced battery life. iPhone users frequently express unhappiness about inadequate talktime from their devices, promoting Apple to launch a battery case that could nearly double the battery life of iPhone 6 or 6S.

While plans are said to be afoot to do away with the 3.5 mm jack to make phones thinner, it is unknown if future iPhones will have improved battery life. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus has a 2,750 mAh battery. Other reports in the past have claimed that Apple will equip its next offering with 3GB RAM and a faster A10 chip.
