A rare incurable auto-immune condition, primary sclerosing cholangitis, that had 31-year-old Emma Hopley in its clutches was alleviated hours after her nuptials at the hospital with her fiancé. This liver disease causes the bile duct present inside and outside the liver to decrease in size slowly due to inflammation. Bile ducts play a huge role in breaking down the fats for aiding the digestion of food. Her earlier plans to marry Dave Amison on 30^th December seemed bleak at best when her condition worsened to a point where she thought that the end is near. As a result, she changed the wedding date to Christmas instead. Mother of one, Emma, married Amison in the hospital chapel in Birmingham. As if by some miracle, she received the best wedding gift, a liver transplant donor that would save her life, reported Huffington Post.

The bride was already fearing for her life and her health was waning by the day until a donor was found soon, the Birmingham Mail reports. But within hours of their wedding, the couple received the news that a match has been found. "It was the best wedding present anyone could have asked for," said Dave. ''To give Emma the gift of life is all we ever wished for. The night before we got the news, Emma asked me whether I thought she would get a new liver this year or next year. I told her she had to be positive, and I had a good feeling it would be in 2015," said Mirror.

Emma who also has an eight-year-old son, Jason, was suffering from this rare disease for quite sometime. "It was a lovely ceremony," said Dave, 30, who proposed to Emma on Christmas Day 2014. "Emma looked absolutely beautiful and it was very emotional, not just for me and Emma, but also for our family and friends," Irish Daily Star reports
