Baby Saved By Doctor Using Google Cardboard
Teegan Lexcen, a twin baby, was born with just one lung and half a heart!
The Minnesota Hospital just sent her away, as a heart surgery on an infant would be impossible.
Still exploring for some solutions, the parents took her to Nicklaus Children's Hospital, where Dr. Burke was chief of cardiovascular surgery.
"Teegan had the worst set of defects you can imagine... I've been doing surgery for 30 years. This is the first time I've seen a case like hers," Burke told Tech Times.
Just a Google Cardboard and application that enabled the creation of a virtual model of an infant's heart helped Dr. Redmond Burke, the surgeon at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital, to save her life, according to ABC News.
"It was mind-blowing," said Cassidy Lexcen, Teegan's mother. "To see this little cardboard box and a phone, and to think this is what saved our daughter's life."
Dr. Burke and his team created a surgery plan thanks to the Google Cardboard. Without it, the surgery would not have been possible, they explain.
After a month and a few days since she was operated, Teegan's ventilator has been removed, enabling her to breathe. Doctors confirm that she is recovering.
