If you are expecting a baby, you can visit this British tech company, which is giving out a 3-D printed mold of the to-be child's sonogram. This is known as Baby Boo, and the point is to make parents exhibit the baby's images in the house.

It has certainly given birth to a new baby trend.

"People either hate it or love it," said Baby Boo owner Katie Kermode via New York Daily News. "I think it will take two or three years for it to become normal."

The parents can select the baby's skin tone before the image is transmitted for 3-D printing and molding. The image helps the mother to bond closely with the baby before it is born. Each molding costs $213 or £150.

"People do think it's a little odd, but it's similar to creating casts of baby's feet or hands," Kermode said. "It's actually a really lovely keepsake to cherish."

However, the technicians are not able to arrive at medical diagnoses just based on the images, according to Mashable.

Printing 3-D models of the foetus isn't really new, for in April 2015, diaper company Huggies made a 3-D mold for a visually challenged mother. The image helped her to visualise her baby's features through the 3-D printed sonogram.
