Video: Planned Parenthood Used False Accounts To Hide Sales Of Fetal Tissue
Planned Parenthood falsified accounting practices while it drew income from fetal tissue sales, reports a new video released on Wednesday by the Center for Medical Progres.
The video quotes Planned Parenthood's director of research, Melissa Farrell, talking about the manner in which the Center earns from the sales, reports The Washington Times.
"We had two levels of invoicing for them. We had it worded as 'per consent,'" Farrell said, describing a deal. Farrell explained that "per consent" was used in its process instead of "per specimen" for the fetal tissue.
The video was released even as David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, involved in creating the videos, faced charges related to their probe in a Texas court, says the Associated Press reports.
They had been indicted by a Harris County grand jury in January, as they had created false driver's licenses in order to take their investigation forward. But the grand jury had cleared Planned Parenthood of misconduct.
In fact, 12 states have cleared the organization of wrongdoing, explained Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens, in an opinion piece for USA Today.
But meanwhile, Rep. Marsha Blackburn, chairwoman of the House's Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, released the following statement:
"The comments in this video by an employee of a large abortion provider are deeply disturbing and seem to demonstrate a willingness to obfuscate and hide their true intentions. The Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives is examining these issues and this new video, once again, raises more questions about the medical procedures and business practices used by entities involved in fetal tissue procurement. Our panel intends to follow the facts where they lead us."
The group that used hidden cameras to catch and nail Planned Parenthood has released 12 videos.
