Will Apple's rumored wireless charging technology work on radio frequency waves? Various reports in the recent past have suggested Apple is partnering with Energous, a company that is expected soon launch its wireless charging solution.

According to Mac Rumors, Energous reportedly signed a deal with one of the top five consumer electronics companies in the world, which likely is Apple. Wattup, Energous' wireless charging technology, relies on a power transmitter like a router and receiver attached to the device. The technology can charge up to 12 devices about 15 feet away.

Rumors about wireless charging being included in future iPhones gained ground after reports describing an Apple patent emerged. Apple Watch uses magnetic resonance to charge from about millimeters away from the power sources but true wireless technologies have eluded manufacturers.

Other iPhone rumors, some unlikely, doing the rounds include an AMOLED screen as reported by BGR. A conceptual design shows a slim iPhone with AMOLED screen and improved 3D Touch.

Reports of hover-touch technology have also gained prominence, coming on the heels of another patent.
