How Do You Revel In A Healthy Valentine's Day?
It's Valentine's Day, but that does not give you an excuse to expand your waist and weight. In a study published in 2000 by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, it is found that most Americans add a pound to their weight with every holiday!
You can celebrate in a healthy way. What are the recommended tips for a great V-day? Here are a few tips.
1. Eat dark chocolates. A study from 2014 presented at the American Chemical Society in Dallas by researchers at Louisiana State University explained that it might boost your blood pressure, thanks to its antioxidants, polyphenols and flavanols.
2. A glass of wine or two, especially red wine along with a healthy diet, can bring down the risk of heart disease. A study published in 2015 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that a particular compound in hops from beers attack diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
3. Sex is a stress reducer that also helps fight illness. A Pennsylvania study published in 2004 by the Psychology Report discovered that students who enjoyed sex once or twice a week had Immunoglobulin A (IgA) compared to their peers.
4. Finally, just hang out and lounge around in public places, which can help to reduce stress and boost happiness. A study in the Journal of Behavioural Medicine found that holding hands or getting wrapped up in a 20-second hug can bring stress levels down significantly.
So the bottom line is that you can have a great celebration as well as a healthy one.
