Smell Dating Site Matches You To Your Spouse Based On Your Body Odour
Some people do have a nose for the right mate. There is a new dating site that matches its clients based on their body odor.
If that makes you smell a rat, you can check out Smell Dating the "first mail odor dating service" that matches couples through their scents. It was set up by a couple of New York digital artists, Tega Brain and Sam Lavigne.
Members need to pay a fee of $25 and then get a t-shirt from the company. Wear it for three days without using perfumes, colognes, deodorants or any other "artificial fragrance". After that, the shirt can be "shipped back in a prepaid envelope" to Smell Dating. The company will match the shirt with those of other members.
"We cut them up into pieces and what you get back is other people's shirts. We send each participant a series of these pieces. You smell each one and you let us know which ones you like and then if someone else likes you too, we exchange contact information for you guys, with a phone number," said Lavigne via ABC News.
The details of the members are collected, but the age, gender and more personal information is left out, according to Independent.
Only 100 New York City residents belong to its member list---at least for a while
"It's an Internet experiment," said Lavigne, who is keen on knowing whether body odour is a good way of finding the right partner or not.
You can try out the sniff trail too.
