The second episode of "Game of Thrones" season 6 titled "Home" had something that made fans extremely excited. Yes, it was their favorite character Jon Snow's resurrection by Melisandre.

The final scene of the HBO drama's fifth season saw Jon Snow betrayed and murdered by Alister Thorne (Owen Teale) and his treacherous followers in the Night's Watch. While everyone was speculating Snow's return in the sixth season, the show makers did everything they could to preserve the secret.

But, the last episode "Home," has confirmed that the Red Priestess Melisandre's magical powers will bring Jon Snow back from the dead.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Carice van Houten, the actress who plays the role of Melisandre in "Game of Thrones," discussed how difficult it was to shoot Jon Snow's much-awaited resurrection scene.

"It took forever to resurrect him, forever! It was such an important scene, we shot it from so many angles. I think I washed his body 50 times," Houten said, reported MovieWeb.

"There would be a lot of people who would be very jealous, including my mother and sister. I was joking about that with him - 'if only my mother could see this' - and he loved that."

For more than ten months, Houten was asked to keep the secret of Snow's return only to her. The actress said she almost had to forget about the resurrection even after shooting the scene.

"At some point, I really believed myself," the 39-year-old actress said. "I had to lie so, so much, you know, you sort of believe in your own lie. You can't keep up with it. So at a certain point, I was like, 'Of course he's dead. No, he's not gonna come back.' I almost forgot that we shot that scene."

Kit Harington told Entertainment Weekly that the resurrection scene was kind of a "teenage boy's wet dream."

"It was such an easy two episodes, I loved it. I'm in a warm room, which is unusual for me. (It was) very weird, like a teenage boy's wet dream - you're laying there naked and Carice van Houten is washing you," Harington said.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 3 titled "Oathbreaker" will air on May 8, Sunday 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
