Water is a fundamental nutrient for bodily functions and while a tall glass of water is the soundest way to rehydrate, there are other fluids you can drink that may be better than this long-favored elixir. Fatigue, dizziness, and mood swings may occur when one is dehydrated especially as our bodies are made up of more than half of water, and we utilized this important component from normalizing body temperature to loosening joints and to the elimination of waster products.

Coconut water

Pure coconut water is a healthy option to sugar-packed beverages like juices as it contains no man-made additives or sweeteners. It boasts of being cholesterol and fat-free and is low in carbohydrates, unlike most sports beverages. It is not just rich in potassium but also prides itself of containing zinc, ascorbic acid, iodine, and B-vitamins.

However, always go directly for pure coconut water and not the bottled variety as there might be some reservations regarding the shelf life of its components when it's shelved.

Milk

Milk is not just the top-most source of calcium that will retain the bones in your body to an impressive structure as it is fortified with vitamin D but is also been a great source for rehydration after a workout. For those trimming the fat please take note to drink the low-fat kind of milk.

Adults should also keep in mind that drinking milk provides closely a third of the recommended daily allowance in just one cup. Milk is also good for the eyes as well.

Green Tea

Antioxidants present in green tea may interfere with the growth of bladder, breast, lung, stomach, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. It also prevents clogging of the arteries, help with heart and cardiovascular difficulties by improving cholesterol.

Drinking green tea also reduces the risk of stroke and neurological disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
