Legendary musician Prince's personal belongings including his iconic "Yellow Cloud" electric guitar has been put on auction in Beverly Hills with an opening bid of $30,000. Prince breathe his last on April 21 at age 57. He was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park recording complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota. While, the actual cause of the singer's death has not yet been identified, investigators are interrogating if he was killed by prescription painkillers.

Heritage Auctions is selling Prince's "Yellow Cloud" guitar in the auction beginning on June 24 with an opening bid of $30,000. The guitar is a custom guitar which the late music icon used during the '80s and '90s to perform hits including "Cream" and "Gett Off."

"One glimpse and you have no doubt that this is Prince's guitar," Garry Shrum, director of music memorabilia at Texas-based Heritage Auctions, said in a statement, according to Daily Mail.

Richard Leece is the current owner of the guitar. He bought it for about $30,000 over a year ago from the same auction house.

"I've been a Prince fan since I was a little kid, and that guitar always stuck out to me because it was super cool and stylish," said Leece, reported The Guardian. "Unfortunately, as morbid as it is, when people pass, their items become more valuable," he added. "I think something as valuable as this could be too risky to continue to have in my possession."

As far as the guitar's authenticity is concerned, the instrument features a serial number and comes with a letter of authenticity from Zeke Clark, Prince's guitar technician, who noted the guitar's neck was broken in France in 1994 and later repaired.

Another yellow cloud guitar is currently on display at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC, according to Entertainment weekly. Other items up for auction in Beverly Hills include record sales awards belonging to Prince and an original demo tape featuring the songs "Just as Long as We're Together," "My Love Is Forever" and "Jelly Jam."
