'Suicide Squad' Sequel Features Solo Harley Quinn Movie? Margot Robbie Ditches Will Smith, Jared Leto

Margot Robbie will be ditching behind her fellow "Suicide Squad" actors Will Smith and Jared Leto as her Harley Quinn character is set to be transplanted to another DC costumed crime fighter stable in the silver screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has already set their eyes on a "Birds of Prey" adaptation with the 25-year-old Australian actress headlining the Gotham super heroine pack. The female centered project has been rumored to be reeling in the name of Batgirl with the actress to portray the caped heroine still being kept mum along with the details of the movie. However, it was mentioned in the website that despite not having any good details being surfaced, a female writer has been tapped for the future movie adaptation.

The DC Entertainment anti-hero roll-call movie "Suicide Squad" is still months from hitting the big screen and is also being headlined by Smith portraying the sharpshooter Dead Shot and Leto as the formidable Joker, who also happens to be Harley Quinn's beau.

Harley Quinn, has long been known by comic aficionados as a heel turned face in the series entitled "Gotham City Sirens which spanned from 2009 to 2011. She was joined by other villains, Catwoman and Poison Ivy during that comic book stint.

Currently, the Harley Quinn character is on a bi-monthly series entitled "Harley's Little Black Book" in which she is joined by such heroes as Zatanna and Wonder Woman. Her backstory is champions a one-sided romance, in which she was once an Arkham Asylum psychiatrist who madly fell in love with the Joker.

Insiders have claimed that Robbie herself fanned the flame for the spin-off movie as she was caught head-on with her Harley Quinn character which prompted her to reel in a writer for the project and which perfectly ended with Warner Bros. green lighting the proposition.
