Red Dead Redemption 2 E3 Spoilers, Release Date & Updates: XBox One, PS4 Versions Available Soon
Rumor mills have it that game publisher Rockstar Games might announce the highly anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" for Xbox One and PS4 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) scheduled to be held in June, 2016.
During parent company Take-Two's most recent financial call, CEO Strauss Zelnick teased that Rockstar will be announcing several new projects soon.
"Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," the CEO said, according to Express. While the publisher did not provide any further details on which gaming titles will be announced, all the rumors have mounted up in favor of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
It is to be noted that Take-Two has already confirmed that their entire release schedule for the financial year has been announced, meaning no new Rockstar games will be announced before April 2017.
As far as the "Red Dead Redemption 2" gameplay is concerned, spoilers suggest the game will allow players to control three different characters throughout the course of the story, according to Gamerant.
It is expected that the western action-based sequel will have a much larger open world than the original Red Dead Redemption. Following the release of the alleged "Red Dead Redemption 2" leaked map, there have also been reports about the possibility of "Mafia III" connection.
There were even reports which claimed that the upcoming sequel will be titled, "Legends of the West."
Talking about "Red Dead Redemption 2" possible release date, it is reported that the sequel will not launch in June as Take-Two Interactive does not follow a policy of releasing sequels annually.
"It's tempting to have continuous releases and milk a franchise as far as you can, [but] we've seen that fatigue in other franchises in the games industry," Zelnick said early this year. "With almost every single franchise for us, the latest release is bigger than the one before."
First released in May 18, 2010, "Red Dead Redemption" was set as a follow-up for the 2004 game Red Hit Revolver.
