Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed divorce rumors have continued to swirl, and many fans might have been asking if his "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev has something to do with it.

Is it possible that the 37-year-old actor's rumored possible separation from his wife could be because of the 27-year-old Bulgarian-Canadian actress?

Amid the unending speculations about the real status of the couple's relationship, the actor appeared to have finally responded to them.

In his Instagram post, Ian Somerhalder shared an intimate photo with Nikki Reed as if trying to brush off the divorce rumors.

"My new screen saver for sure... Brother @ernestoriley thanks for snapping this sweet photo of me and my better half," he captioned his post.

He even pointed out that "I am the luckiest man on earth. Literally."

Meanwhile, Celeb Dirty Laundry suggested that Nikki Reed could have already been tired of Ian Somerhalder's ego - something which might end up in divorce. 

This after referencing to the actor's alleged reaction when asked about the highly talked about the possible return of Nina Dobrev in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 during the Comic Con 2016 in San Diego.

"Why can't Ian Somerhalder just stop talking about Nina Dobrev's possible return for the series finale?" the entertainment site said. "If we're sick of the actor's ego, we can imagine that Nikki Reed is even more fed up. Who would blame the 'Sleepy Hollow' actress for filing for divorce?"

In a separate report, Celeb Dirty Laundry revealed that despite the differences between the two former co-stars, the actress has reportedly agreed to make a comeback. 

Accordingly, showrunner Julie Plec "has done nothing but beg Nina to keep promises, emotional promises, and return for the 'TVD' series finale."

It can be recalled that reports have dished that Ian Somerhalder, who is presently rumored to be heading to divorce from wife Nikki Reed, allegedly sounded pissed off when the press tried to find out if Nina Dobrev is reprising her role in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.
