Consumers from all around the world might have been anticipating the arrival of Oct. 4 as it is said to be the biggest event that Google is hosting this year.

Previous rumors have already revealed that it will serve as a venue for the American tech giant to unveil its newest smartphones - the Pixel and Pixel XL.

Apart from these highly-anticipated devices, hardware products are also expected to be launched during the occasion.

The question now, though, would it be as big as Apple's World Wide Development Conference, or would it be bigger?

A direct comparison between Google's Oct. 4 event and Apple's WWDC in June might not be possible this time since no one has the actual details yet of the former's event that is set to happen in a while.

However, just like the latter's, it will be an occasion for the introduction of two flagship mobile phones as well.

According to Mirror UK, the smaller Pixel and bigger Pixel XL "will square off against the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus," something which Google hopes to achieve. 

The news outlet noted that based on the photos released by Google, the handsets to be launched at the Oct. 4 event have a "striking resemblance" to Apple's iPhone 6 model, except for the fingerprint scanner that is rear-mounted. This feature is popular among other Android devices.

Both the upcoming Pixel phones will have a USB-C charging port, 4GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front selfie shooter and are available in white color. In terms of internal storage, consumers can choose between 32GB and 128GB.

In the meantime, CNET reported that the Oct. 4 event of Google will also be the perfect time to launch the upgraded 4K Chromecast video streamer, the successor of the OnHub Wi-Fi router, more details about its new VR platform Daydream and new Pixel tablet or laptop.
