Microsoft Surface Phone Rumors: Is Declining Windows Market Making Its Release Impossible?
As consumers continue to wait for the official release date of Microsoft Surface Phone, recent rumors appeared to have confirmed that there could be no more reason to get excited.
Could there be enough basis for this speculation?
Accordingly, the declining market for Windows smartphones could be a major possible reason why Microsoft has never made its new handheld device available yet.
According to a report from Forbes, revealed that Windows-based phones have already become a "foreign concept," especially with the increasing popularity of those running on iOS and Android operating systems.
The report further noted that "the world is slowly moving away from Windows Phones," a scenario that may have discouraged Microsoft to offer a Surface Phone.
However, the report clarified that amid this, the anticipated new mobile device from the American tech giant could also be "its last chance at the mobile phone market."
This could be achieved if Microsoft would find a way to enable the Surface Phone download all the famous and highly-used apps both from Apple Store and Play Store. As to how it will make it happen, it is the biggest challenge they may have to face when developing the Microsoft Surface Phone.
The site continued to point out that another possible strategy to "save" the company's "dying smartphone division" is to ensure that the rumored phone will cater the needs of a "bigger scope of users."
In the meantime, Slash Gear reported that those who have been "painfully waiting" for the Microsoft Surface Phone may have to continuously face their disappointment.
It can be recalled that Microsoft has set an event later this month, and many of its fans have reportedly hoped to finally see the handset by then.
The Microsoft Surface Phone, unfortunately, will not be part of the event yet. The rumors suggested that it would only be the Surface AIO that will be introduced.
