Kate Beckinsale is headed for a divorce. Len Wiseman, her husband filed for a divorce on Friday after 12 years of their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple's date of separation, according to court documents is "to be determined." Neither Beckinsale nor Wiseman is demanding spousal support, indicating the pair may have a prenuptial agreement, as reported by TMZ.

Beckinsale and Wiseman, both 43, got married in May 2004 after they met each other on the set of her first Underworld film, which was released in 2003. Wiseman, a film director and writer, directed Beckinsale in the film. The couple has no children together.

At the time of the meeting, Wiseman was married to a kindergarten teacher while Beckinsale was dating actor Martin Sheen, who she shares her 17-year-old daughter, Lily Sheen with. Beckinsale had previously said about her relationship with Sheen that she was embarrassed that the actor had never asked to marry her after dating each other for eight years.

Beckinsale and Wiseman had called an end to their relationship on Nov. 2015. A source then had told Dailymail that the couple had split due to conflicting schedules, as both often had to travel overseas separately for their respective film commitments.

In 2012, Beckinsale had expressed her joy on working with her husband alongside from time to time in an interview with Parade magazine. She said, "The first time we met each other was when we were filming Underworld, and then we worked together again after we'd been married a short while, and now we've been married seven years, so I've had quite a few difference along the way." She then added, "It's different each time. We love it. I think one of the things we least like about our jobs is that it can force separation from each other."

Since their split in Nov. 2015, Wiseman has been seen without his wedding ring and has reportedly been spending time with 25-year-old model and actress, CJ Franco. Beckinsale was busy filming Underworld 5 in Prague at the time.
